As the High School State Volleyball Championships wrapped up in Grand Island Saturday a group of local parents got together to show off their team spirit.

A few hours before the beginning of the third place consolation game between the St. Cecilia Hawkettes and North Platte Saint Patrick's Lady Irish, a group of families lined Hwy 281 for about two miles to show their support for the St. Cecilia Volleyball team.

"We're out here to support our girls," said Don Sheehy. "We're not in the game we'd like to have been in, but we're so proud of our girls, our entire community of St. Cecilia and we're just out here on the Highway to show them support."

The Hawkettes made the effort more than worth it by bringing home the victory in three straight sets.
