Red Cross encourages storm preparedness

Tools

The American Red Cross is reminding residents that preparation can make the difference between life and death in an emergency.

Red Cross officials recommend assembling an emergency preparedness kit.

The kit should include warm coats, hats, gloves, blankets, extra clothing, food and water, among other items.

A full tank will help to keep the fuel line from freezing.

And to prevent frozen pipes in your home, running water at a trickle will help.

Of course, you should also stay informed on changing weather conditions by keeping it on News 5.
