A crisis team is on-hand at Sandy Creek High School today to assist students and staff after a deadly Friday night car accident near Fairfield. That accident killed 18 year old Casie Gibbs and injured four others.

Monday morning, Superintendent of the South Central Unified School District Randall Gilson, said that in the short time Gibbs attended Sandy Creek, she made a positive impact with students and teachers and will be missed.

Gilson goes on to say that Gibbs began blossoming in honor choir this year. She was especially excited about preparing to sing a solo at the upcoming Dinner Theater in November.

Funeral arrangements for Gibbs are pending.

Gilson says all school events will go on as planned.

First round of conference volleyball games are scheduled at Sandy Creek Monday night. The volleyball team plans to wear purple ribbons in their hair as a way to remember Gibbs.
