Secretary of State calls for voting changes

Secretary of State John Gale is calling for a change to the early voting process in Nebraska.

A complaint was raised by Fatos Floyd who said she was unable to vote during the first week of October at the Lancaster County elections commission office due to the unavailabity of the AutoMark machine.

That's the equipment that allows those that are visually impaired to cast their ballot privately.

A suggestion has been made in a complaint by attorney Robert Kinsey to reduce the in-person early voting from 35 days to 25.

Gale said he will suggest changes during the next legislative session.
