With Rick Sheehy expected to pull his name out of the race for Nebraska governor, the field appears to be wide open. And, a Nebraska legislature could be throwing his hat in the ring.

Fremont Senator Charlie Janssen has scheduled a press conference on Monday in Fremont to make an announcement regarding the 2014 race for Governor.

After serving on Fremont city council, Janssen joined the Nebraska Legislature in 2009.

Former Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy is currently the only candidate to announce his run for Governor.

But, after his phone scandal incident, Sheehy is expected to remove his name.
