Senator speaks out against Agenda 21

One Nebraska lawmaker introduced a bill to protect the state of Nebraska from Agenda 21. Senator Bill Kintner of Papillion says the United Nation's plan would threaten the state.

Agenda 21 is a set of guidelines for development, which focuses on the environment.

Some senators say Kintner's bill is unnecessary, that Agenda 21 isn't a threat.

But Senator Kintner says it would interfere with farm land.

Kintner says he doesn't think Agenda 21 is a conspiracy but says his bill is a measure of protection.

"It would protect farmland and it would protect property rights. Those are the two key things that we're trying to do and the other thing it would do, it would preserve the legislature's prerogative to set land policy in our state," said Kintner.

The bill was introduced Wednesday and is in the hands of the committee. Kintner says they could act on it in the next week or two.
