Snow forces state legislature to reschedule agenda

The powerful winter storm barreling through our area forced a cancellation of legislative hearings and floor sessions at the state capitol. Hearings originally scheduled for today have been rescheduled for March 5th.

An abbreviated session Wednesday forced a time out in a filibuster being staged by maverick state senator Ernie Chambers.

Chambers filibustered for over three hours trying to stall a bill to expand a prison work program.

During the filibuster, the Omaha legislator lashed out at former Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, the Catholic church, the bible and the governor.

Chambers vows he will resume his filibuster when the full senate resumes on Monday.
