State Department issues statement on Keystone XL pipeline

Tools

The U.S. State Department started the month of March Friday by issuing its Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the Keystone XL pipeline project and the main group that opposes it isn't happy.

The federal agency put out the report Friday afternoon. It's not the end of the path for the pipeline though.

Friday marks the start of a 45-day public comment period before the State Department will issue its final report.

As far as Bold Nebraska is concerned, the report is, quote, "wrong and laughable" mainly because the report states that the development of tarsands is not affected by the future of the Keystone XL pipeline.
