State Fairgoers encounter giant pig

Nebraska Pig Farmers and Nebraska Soybean Farmers have teamed up this year for one of the most talked about attraction at the state fair, a giant pig made out of canned goods.

The giant porker is made out of about 9,000 cans of Bush's Beans and canned vegetables. It took four expert builders two full 8 hour days to construct the attraction.

Both groups say the connection they're trying to make it that farmers work hard to make food for people.

"Partnering with soybean farmers and pig farmers just makes a lot of sense because pigs eat lots of soybean and that provide lots of healthy food for folks to eat," said Kyla Wize, Nebraska Pork Producers.

All of the cans that were used in the construction of the pig will be donated to local food banks across the state.
