Students participate in Golf Outreach Program
They say you're never too old to learn a new sport.. But we all know the earlier you learn, the better your chance at success.
That's why the Hastings College Golf Program and Lochland Country Club is teaming up, once again, for its annual golf outreach program. Team members and a well known local golf pro spent their afternoon at Alcott Elementary, teaching the students how to stand, and how to swing. Kids then got a chance to practice with smaller clubs and big, Velcro targets. "It's a lot more challenging to get into the game of golf later in life and we feel like if we can get them started early, they can pursue this game with a chance of really playing it the rest of their lives," said Hastings College senior Andy Primavera. This is the third year for the Golf Outreach program in the Hastings Elementary Schools. |
