Students devote concert to Civil War

Tuesday night, 7th graders from the Hastings Middle School turned back the clock with a special concert devoted to the Civil War. The evening included music to the Ashokan Farewell.

Civil War re-enactors and drama students wore uniforms from the war.
And, News 5's Colin Murphy was lucky to be a part of the night as he narrated the famous letter from Sullivan Ballou.

He was a major in the United States Army.

The letter was written to his wife a week before he fought and was killed in the First Battle of Bull Run.

This was just one of the performances as part of the 7th Grand Band and senior high concert band performance.
