The tradition of tailgating for Husker fans

They call Memorial Stadium the Sea of Red, but for some it's also the place for what Nebraska is known for, tailgating. And for Husker fans that's their tradition.

Doug Miskimins of Omaha has been tailgating in Lincoln since 1994 and coming to games since 1987.

He says that there are some places that offer better
tailgating experiences but according to Miskimins Nebraska's tailgating tops them all.

It's a way that his family can get together and watch a Husker game.

"It's the time of the year where my three brothers, nephew, friends, we all get together," said Miskimins. "It's nice to have the family atmosphere to just enjoy it."

As far as the new uniforms, Miskimins isn't that crazy about them but says if it'll help the team recruit, he's all for it.

Monday on News 5 we'll have more from videojournalist Kevin Rempe on tailgating.
