A Texas landowner has put the Keystone XL Pipeline project to a halt.
Retired Marine Michael Bishop filed a lawsuit against TransCanada for building a southern portion of the project through his land.

A Nacogdoches county judge has granted a temporary restraining order.

This means the firm is prohibited from further work on Bishop's property until an injunction hearing on the matter is held on December 19th.

In the lawsuit, Bishop says TransCanada has intentionally misled and misrepresented the project to Americans and Texas landowners.
Bishop says the material being transported is not crude oil like the company says but a hazardous material.

Bishop also says TransCanada defrauded landowners by stating all permits were in order and that TransCanada had the right to eminent domain as common carrier.
