Children had the opportunity to take a journey to the North Pole thanks to the Stuhr Museum Saturday.

This was the first year for the North Pole Express.

Kids enjoyed listening to the Polar Express, drinking hot cocoa and joining Santa in his workshop assembling their very own wooden toy trains.

Organizers say it was a fun day for everyone.

"It's been a huge success," said Courtney Meyer. "We've heard nothing but good feedback. We've just had a great time. It's been a really fun day out here and I think everyone has really enjoyed themselves."

Over 75 kids took part in the event. Organizers say they hope to make this an annual tradition.
