Behind every needle and thread there's a colorful story.

Dedicated quilters shared their lives and hobbies through fabric in Grand Island.

At College Park the Prairie Pioneer Quilters Guild held a unique quilt show.

The organization was founded in 1986 as a way to enhance the appreciation of art.

But the art of quilting for some is like a trip to the therapist.

"Quilts tend to be pretty flat so there's no curves that you have to make sure they fit together and I love that I can be fairly accurate and not have to worry it's going to be perfect," said Noelle Hooper.

Over 30 plus quilts from young artists to veterans were featured at the show.

The Prairie Pioneer Quilters organization also meets every second Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at St. Leo's Catholic Church.
