Time running out for UPS Christmas deliveries
It's been the peak week for UPS shipping 135 million packages and Thursday will be the busiest day of the year. But will the weather affect those Christmas packages?
Thursday alone they anticipate shipping 28 million. That is up from last year's numbers. Last minute shippers looking to get their Christmas gifts to loved ones can still ship by air service Friday and their packages will make it by Monday. But, the local UPS store in Grand Island says deliveries do depend on the weather. "There still are shipping options although they're somewhat limited because now you start looking at air service products rather than ground service products. But stuff can still get delivered prior to Christmas. And UPS is delivering on the 24th." Wednesday is the last day to use UPS's three day service select. For UPS ground services, representatives say packages shipped by Thursday or Friday within the metro will most likely make it by Christmas Eve. |
