Touring kitchens for a good cause

Kitchens seem to be the place to gather in homes, and that was the case Sunday in Grand Island.

Local residents toured a dozen Grand Island kitchens for a good cause on Sunday.

Citizen Advocacy Incorporated has been serving the Grand Island area for the last 37 years. For the last five years they have held a kitchen tour as a fundraising event.

"Basically, what we do is we get back with the homeowners and they'll give us feedback they've received from people that have taken the tour," said Max Stanislav, Board President of Citizen Advocacy Inc. "They'll give us feedback, so whether it's positive or negative, we try to learn from that and build on that for next year."

Stanislav says that he's already received questions about next year's tour.

Citizen Advocacy, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to matching people who have disabilities with citizens in our community.
