Meanwhile, traffic deaths in Nebraska are up 16 percent over last year,
which was one of the lowest highway fatality rates on record.

As of November 29th, AAA says the death toll this year in Nebraska stands at 192. That is compared to 166 deaths in 2011.

The most significant increase is on county roads in rural areas where fatalities have risen 69-percent.

Last year during the same period, 35 deaths were reported on county roads in rural areas compared to 59 this year.

Many fatalities were unbelted motorists who were ejected from their vehicle during a rollover crash.
