An affidavit shows that a UNK student told a classmate she lit and threw a M-80 firecracker out her window for an adrenaline rush and to scare her friends. That practical joke could prove to be costly.

Ann Castater, 19, is charged in Buffalo County Court with felony possession of a destructive device, misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and minor in possession.

In the early morning hours on February 18th staff and students heard what appeared to be gun shots.

This happened at the same time police were looking for a man with a gun on campus threatening to kill himself.

Numerous amounts of firecrackers and destructive devices were found in her dorm room.

Castater has been suspended and moved out of her dorm.
