Tuesday night vigil planned for Hastings toddler

A curbside memorial is planned for Tuesday night to remember a toddler killed Sunday evening in Hastings. 19-month-old Roy Lagunas died after wandering into traffic near his home.

Family, friends, and even strangers have left flowers and stuffed animals near the scene of the accident to remember Roy.

The tragedy happened on east South Street and California Avenue around 7:00 Sunday evening.

The Hastings police department says that two or more vehicles may have been involved.

The accident is still under investigation.

But Hastings police say no citations have been issued and they do not foresee any charges.

Tuesday night's memorial is set for 7:00 on the corner of east South Street and California.
