Illnesses continue to be passed around all over the Tri-Cities. There is a common thread of what's going around this week in the Tri-Cities. It's gastroenteritis.

Dr. Janice Kutlek with the Grand Island Clinic says that
she has seen patients with strep throat and gastroenteritis.

Plus she says that influenza is a big deal right now. She has seen both strains of influenza A and B. Symptoms of the flu include a fever, an achy tired feeling, cough, sore throat, headache and nausea.

Kutilek says that if you think you have the flu make sure you see a doctor within the first 48 hours of the illness. The doctor can prescribe tamiflu to lessen the severity of the illness.

Dr. Michael Johnson with the Hastings Family Practice says that he's seen several patients with gastroenteritis, the common cold and sore throats.

Plus he says even though it's late in the season he's still seeing patients with allergies. These patients are dealing with chronic sniffles and sneezing.

Doctor Michael Hanich with the Kearney Clinic says that he's seeing patients with symptoms of influenza.

He says he has not seen any cases of the flu, but there have been several cases of the flu seen by other physicians at the clinic.

He also says that gastroenteritis is going around.
