by Kevin Rempe

White Clay, Nebraska has about a dozen residents, but liquor stores there are part of a $500 million lawsuit filed by a South Dakota Native American tribe.

The Ogallala Sioux Tribe filed the suit against some of the largest beer companies in the United States as well as the stores in White Clay selling alcohol.

News 5 video Journalist Kevin Rempe was in Lincoln Thursday as the group Nebraskans for Peace made the announcement official. View the video for the full feature.

The alcohol fight has been brewing since 1997 highlighted by the 2008 documentary entitled "The Battle for Whiteclay."
