The plot thickens in the Sheehy story when it comes to the romantic rendezvous between the former Lt. Governor and one of his lady friends.

The Omaha World Herald is reporting they were planning to settle downtown in Hastings. They were going to build a new life together after he divorced his wife.

The article, published Monday says Dr. Theresa Hatcher of Bellevue purchased a loft in downtown Hastings in September of 2010. She hired a contractor to undertake a $350,000 renovation.

Hatcher told the World Herald she acted on the belief that Sheehy told her he would divorce his wife and marry her.

The newspaper also indicates court records show that in May of 2011 Hatcher stopped making $29,000 payments for the renovation, when Sheehy called it quits.
