World's Fair of Teaching comes to Grand Island

Students may be on a break from learning, but Grand Island Senior High teachers are learning how to be more creative in the classroom.

Teachers are teaching teachers. They're calling it the World's Fair of Teaching. Booths lined the hallways of the high school Thursday.
Each one with a different lesson.

We spoke with an English teacher on how every class can incorporate the subject.

"Teachers throughout the building maybe have noticed that students aren't as strong as writers as we used to be.Texting and e-mailing and Twitter has maybe changed the way students are writing now, so this maybe is just a re-focus on some things that we can work on to improve students' writing," said GISH English Teacher Paula Poppe.

This is the first year for the World's Fair of Teaching and it was a hit.
