"World's Smartest Horse" arrives with Oregon Trail Rodeo

by Jeniffer Berry

He can sit, lie down, dance, march, and even smile. Meet Wrangler. The 13 year old is dubbed "The World's Smartest Horse," and he's here in Hastings for the Oregon Trail Rodeo at the Adams County Fairgrounds this weekend.

Each night at 7:30, Wrangler and his owner, rodeo clown Frankie "Punkintown" Smith, dance into the rodeo arena to entertain the crowd.

"He can dance and he can do the two–step and when it gets rowdy, he likes to shake his groove–thang," said Smith.

The Oregon Trail Rodeo runs Friday through Sunday at the Adams County Fairgrounds.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6 to 12.
