Martin A. "Whitey" Read passed away on January 6, 2012. He was born in Palmyra, NE on October 9, 1934 to Ross L. & Mary L. (Strodtman) Read. Martin was the Vice Pres. & Chief Grain Inspector for over 40 years at Lincoln Inspection Services.

Survivors include loving wife, J. Beverly Read of Lincoln; children, Christine & Rex Smith, Cheryl & Michael Boles, Terry Read & Glenn Lindholm, all of Lincoln, Allen & Donna Read of Lovington, NM; grandchildren, Kylie & Trevor Andrews, Sawyer Smith, Chelsea & Nicholas Boles, Mike Boles, Chacey Jones, Shannon & Travis Hardesty, Christopher Read, Shawnna & Ritchy Richards, Suzanne, Shelby Read, Brady, Drew, Garron Palmer; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Dale & Lorraine Read; sister-in-law, Gladys Read; & very loving nieces & nephews, special nephew Terry & Carol Crandell of Tucson, AZ;

Preceded in death by parents, 1 brother & 2 sisters.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. MarySue Harris will officiate the service.
