Wilbur W. Wrage, 73 of Grand Island died Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Reverend William Pavuk will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mr. Wrage was born on a family farm in Western Hall County the son of Alvin and Meta (Spiehs) Wrage.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; daughters, Barbara Leonard and Gretchen Petersen both of Arizona, Florinda Petersen and Teresa Pichler both of Grand Island and brother and sister-in-law, Alvin Lee and Shirley Wrage of Shelton.
Other survivors are his grandchildren, Jason and Justin Leonard, Travis Glover, Pete, Michael and Tabitha Pane, Tyler, Mikayla, Hannah and Brock Pichler and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wallace and sister, Elaine.
Following Wilbur’s graduation from Wood River High School he served in the United States Army. On March 3, 1960 he was united in marriage to Connie Clay. They made their home in Grand Island where Wilbur worked for Grand Island Elevators. He later owned and operated Mid Nebraska Feeds, Inc. retiring in 2011.
Memberships included St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Platt Duetsche. Wilbur coached men’s softball and enjoyed horseracing and Nebraska football.
A memorial fund will be established in Wilbur’s name.
