Darrel V. “Pete” Peterson, 71, of Clarks, NE, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. A gathering for family and friends will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Clarks VFW. Wagner Funeral Home in Clarks is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darrel was born on October 25, 1941, in Denver, CO to Lyle and Imogene (Hill) Peterson. He grew up in various locations due to his father’s military ties. He graduated from Suitland High School in Maryland. He continued his college education in Colorado, and worked at a mental hospital in Colorado.

He was united in marriage to Lucille R. Snider on December 31, 1998 in Clarks, NE. The couple lived east of Clarks and Darrel worked at Hilder Implement in Central City for over 18 years.

Darrel liked to tinker around the house building things, including his own home. He also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Peterson, of Clarks, NE, three sons, Bradley Peterson of CO; Jeff Emery of Justin, TX; and Jeremy Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, five grandchildren, numerous stepchildren including, Cindy (Ken) Wilson of Des Moines, IA; Susan Loveless of Grand Island, NE, and Richard Fegter of Grand Island, NE, a brother, Mike Peterson of Rockwell, TX, and two half-sisters, Carolyn Rice of AL; and Mrs. Ojeduoboh of Aurora, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
