Marilyn G. Arnett was born March 20, 1935 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Omar and Fern (Kirkhart) Arnett. She left this world November 27, 2012 at Tribune, Kansas at the age of 77.

Marilyn and her parents lived in Gate, Oklahoma until 1937 when they moved to Caldwell, Idaho. They lived in Idaho until 1948 when they moved to the Northbranch, Kansas area. Marilyn attended high school in Burr Oak, Kansas and was part of the graduating class of 1952. In the fall of 1952, Marilyn continued her education at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Friends University for 2 years. In 1954 she came back home and taught in the country school located in Northbranch. On December 22, 1956 she married Ardean L. Jeffery at the Northbranch Friends Church. They resided on a farm near Northbranch for most of their married life. Three children were born to this union, a daughter Judith and two sons, Michael, and Martin.

Marilyn was a member of the Northbranch Friends Church and was active in many areas of the church. Marilyn was a homemaker for the majority of her life, but while her children were in school she worked as a substitute teacher in the Burr Oak School system. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading many types of books. Marilyn greatly enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, Donald Arnett of Lebanon, Kansas, her husband Ardean, currently living in Tribune, Kansas; three children, Judith Pierce and her husband Bruce of Tribune, Kansas, Michael Jeffery, of Tribune, Kansas, Martin Jeffery and his wife Elizabeth of Burr Oak, Kansas, seven grandchildren, Ryan Jeffery, and his wife Misty, Shane Jeffery, J. T. Jeffery and his wife Jessica, Benjamin Pierce, Sarah Jeffery, Bryce Jeffery, Hannah Jeffery, and one great-granddaughter Kinlee Belle Jeffery.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Theodore Edgar.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Northbranch Friends Church, in Northbranch, Kansas. Rev. Ken Smith will be officiating.
