Evelyn I. Nelson, 80 of Grand Island died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Grand Island Nebraska Veterans Home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before service time.

Mrs. Nelson was born July 22, 1932 at Trenton, NE the daughter of Aaron and Ella (Darby) Johnson.

Her husband Donald Nelson preceded her in death on October 19, 2012.

Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Sue and David Green of Grand Island and son, Terry Nelson of Texas.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Shawn Bellm and Kaycee (Mrs. Mike) Sciandra and great-granddaughter, Kennedy.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald, Jr. (Sonny); daughter, Judy and seven brothers and five sisters.

Evelyn graduated from Trenton High School. On December 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Donald Nelson. They lived in Republican City before making Grand Island their home in 1966. Evelyn was a stay at home mom. She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter. She took great pride in caring for her family.
