Memorial Services for Annie O. Ferguson will be conducted from the Holdrege Memorial Homes Chapel in Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jean Clayton, officiating. Private family inurnment will be held in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel near Clarks, Nebraska at a later date.

Annie Olwen Ferguson, 91 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, (formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska) passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Annie was born July 27, 1921 in Merrick County, north of Central City, Nebraska, the youngest of three children born to Owen G. and Elizabeth (Jones) Jones. She received her primary education from District #23 in Merrick County, and then graduated from Central City High School with the class of 1938. She then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she majored in Elementary Education.

In 1961, she was united in marriage to Carl Ferguson. The couple made their home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Annie taught Kindergarten in Central City, and then Grand Island, Nebraska for a few years, prior to her marriage. In 1990, Annie was preceded death by her husband, Carl. In 1998, she began to make her home at Holdrege Memorial Homes.

Annie loved to read, enjoyed bird watching, Husker Football and watching TV. She was a member of the Methodist Church faith.

Besides her husband, Carl, Annie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret Clark; and one brother, Robert Jones.

Annie is survived by her niece, Marianna Stuart and her husband, Harry of Beatrice, Nebraska; nephew, Richard Friedrichsen and his wife, Marlene of Clarks, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Earl Ferguson and his wife, Selma of Nelson, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel near Clarks, Nebraska.
