Ethel Alberta Hicks, the daughter of John and Elsie (Dixon) Porter, was born on November 10, 1917 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on December 27, 2012 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at the age of 95 years, 1 months, 17 days.
Alberta attended the Superior Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Arthur Lyne in 1939 at Ft. Morgan Colorado and this union was blessed with two children, Ronald Lee and Pat. Alberta owned and operated Alberta’s Fashion Center in Superior. She also was the department manager in the ladies fashion at Montgomery Ward in Hastings and managed Crowleys mall store in Hastings. Alberta loved to collect anything that had to do with chickens. She loved to embroidery, making clothing and fancy work. She lived in the communities of Superior and Hastings, Nebraska and also Webber, Kansas. She was a 50 year member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur in 1962, infant son Ronald Lee, brother Wendell and a sister Colene along with her husband Jesse Wayman in 1975 and Blaine Hicks in 1995.
She is survived by her daughter Pat Lyne of Superior along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
