Former Hastings resident, Martha Lena Smith, 98 passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Tabitha Home in Lincoln, NE.

There will be a private memorial service for the family. Any memorial donations in Martha’s name should be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Brand-Wilson Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.

Martha was born August 29, 1914 in Glenvil, NE, daughter of John and Anna (Fredricks) Kahman she graduated from Howells high school. Martha was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings where she was a member of the choir. On November 10, 1935 she married Francis Smith.

Martha was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Greenwood of Lincoln; grandchildren John Ritze of Lincoln, Nancy Cullen of Arlington Heights, IL, Perry Greenwood of Lincoln and 5 great grandchildren.
