Donna Rogene was born January 4, 1922, to Paul and Victoria (Johnson) Kriutzfield at the family home outside of Fairfield, NE. She graduated from Fairfield High School, continued her education at the University of Nebraska and graduated from Hastings College in 1944. She taught business classes at Guide Rock and Cambridge schools. She met her husband, Frank “Cliff” Fisher while teaching at Guide Rock. They were married on July 4, 1945, at the Kriutzfield family farm. Donna’s attention then turned to the most important work of her life, the nurturing of her four children: Gary, Dana, Paula, and Ross and helping Cliff on the family farm. She enjoyed singing and serving as the choir director for many years at her church in Fairfield.

Donna is remembered by the family as a great cook. Her famous oatmeal cookies, cherry pie, fried chicken, and chocolate cake were always a delight. She was an avid Nebraska Husker football fan; regularly attending games from 1964-2002. She and Cliff enjoyed attending sporting and school activities in which their children and grandchildren participated. Donna’s passion was hand quilting, making quilts for all her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, the Eastern Star and Country Women’s Extension Club. Donna, a Christian, always displayed virtues which defined a life well lived: faith, hope, and love.

All of us will miss Donna (mom/grandma/great-grandma) until that happy day when we join her in Christ’s eternal Kingdom.

Donna Rogene Fisher is survived by sons, Gary (Bonita) of Louisburg, KS; Dana (Terri) of Fairfield, NE; Ross (Barb) of Fairfield, NE; daughter, Paula (Brian) Schellpeper of Overland Park, KS; 9 grandchildren, Curtis Fisher, Christina (Jonathan) Venner, Clay (Kathy) Fisher, Alison (Shannon) Meyer, Evan Fisher, Jake (Katie) Fisher, Jacey Fisher, Courtney Schellpeper, Ashley (Brian) Adrianse and 5 great grandchildren, Garrett, Emma and Gavin Fisher, Reagan and Berlyn Meyer.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Clifford Fisher; granddaughter, Kandace Fisher and sister, Pauline Wages.
