Former Doniphan resident, Lurye A. LaBrie, 94, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Good Samaritan Center, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013; 10:30 A.M. St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Doniphan, Nebraska with Father Joseph Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Cedar View Cemetery, Doniphan, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013; 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, AseraCare Hospice, or Grand Island Central Catholic High School.
Lurye was born December 3, 1918 in rural Trumbull, Nebraska to Myron L. & Agnes C. (Frasier) Rader. She was a graduate of Trumbull High School in 1936. On September 7, 1938 she married Glenn A. LaBrie at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner. They farmed near Giltner until they retired in 1980 and moved to Doniphan. Glenn preceded her in death on January 23, 1999. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, Hastings Deanery, and Crosier Apostolate. Lurye was very active with her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Lurye was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn A. LaBrie; grandson, Bartt LaBrie; sisters, Mary Schmidt, Carleen Bieck, Janet Soucie; brother, Robert Rader.
