Alice W. Danielson, 104, of Kearney, died January 29, 2013 at the St. Johns Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Funeral services will be Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with Pastor Stan Murdoch officiating. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the AseraCare Hospice or St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home with the family greeting friends, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Alice was born September 26, 1908 northwest of Gibbon at home to Charles and Hope (DeBrie) MacTavish. She attended Elkhorn District Country School. She married Walter Minor on June 25th, 1927 in Grand Island, Nebraska. They farmed in the Gibbon area. They moved to Washington State and then Keokuk, Iowa for 13 years. They moved back to Kearney in 1950. Walter passed away in 1955. She married Richard Danielson on January 2, 1962 in Kearney. They farmed in the Upland area. In 1973 they moved to Kearney. Richard passed away in 1995. Alice worked at the Kauffman Wernerts Department Store and at Good Samaritan Hospital in the cafeteria. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and visiting with friends.
Surviving relatives include her grandchildren; Robin Mazankowski and her husband Dennis, Dan Nichols and his wife Deb, Dave Nichols and his wife Tammey, Ronda Eastman and her husband Rich all of Kearney, NE, Linda Callahan and her husband Jake of Bethlehem, PA, Cheryl Oliver and her husband Randy of Jacksonville, FL, Kurt de laMotte and his wife Cheryl of Jacksonville, FL, Kim Solomon and her husband Barry of Ft. Worth, TX, and Julie Wolf and husband John of Lincoln, NE, 19 great Grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by 2 husbands, 2 daughters-Betty de laMotte and Patsy Nichols, 1 great grandson-Matthew Klaasmeyer, 2 sons in law-Donald Nichols and Loren de laMotte, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
