Eileen Leona "Cookie" Krull, the daughter of Florence Irene Hall Howe and Nick Meyer, was born December 31, 1934 at Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She departed this life on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 78 years 1 month and 1 day.
Cookie, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, received her formal education attending Eden Prairie High School and completed her studies at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.
She was united in marriage with Gordon Krull in 1965 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. This union was blessed with a daughter Laura and a son, Paul. While living in the Twin Cities she was employed in food service. She later received her certification as a nursing assistant. Following her move to Nebraska, Cookie was employed as a CNA at the Franklin Nursing Center, the Grandview Manor at Campbell, the Blue Hill Care Center, Home Care & Companions in Grand Island and the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud.
A longtime resident of the Red Cloud community, Cookie never knew a stranger. She greeted everyone with a smile and a quick wit. She loved to bake and often shared her efforts with her family, friends and neighbors. For many years she was an avid bowler. Cookie loved life and was happiest when she was helping others and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Paul, in 1992; her husband, Gordon; a sister, Anita Klein and a brother, Carl Meyer.
Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Laura Wescoat and husband Danny of Red Cloud; three grandchildren, Kody Schnase and wife Kelli; Aaron Wescoat and Kabrina Wescoat; six great grandchildren, Breanna, Colton, Austin, Ethan, Timothy and Nathan; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., February 5, 2013 at the Red Cloud Cemetery with Rev. Marshall Faulkenberry and Rev. Audrey Beaty officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to service time.
