Sutton resident John (Jack) Edward Lohmeier, 79, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father William Holoubek officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sutton, NE. Visitation will be Friday, from 1 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Mary’s Parish Hall Fund or the Sutton Community Home.

Jack was born July 6, 1933, in Sutton, NE to Joseph and Edna (Mooney) Lohmeier. He was the youngest of ten children. He met his wife Esther Pennala in Colorado Springs, CO. They returned to Sutton, NE where they raised their family. He was employed with the Sutton Co-op for about 30 years retiring in 1997. Jack was hardworking and very devoted to his church and his work. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton, NE and a member of the Knights Of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Esther (Penny) of Sutton, NE; three daughters, Susan Neely and husband Darrel of Omaha, NE and their children, Erin and Eric; Julie Bergen and husband Max of Sutton, NE and their children, Mitch and wife Carrie, Jake and Claire; Linda Pope of Lincoln, NE and her children Chad and Lauren; two sisters, Janice Alberts of Sutton, NE; Gerena Durham of Alton, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
