(Jerry) Eusebio Noriega, 71 of Grand Island died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Reverend Richard L. Piontkowski will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with a parish rosary at 7 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel. Honor guard will be provided by the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Noriega was born December 16, 1941 at O’Fallon, Nebraska the son of Patricio and Anita (Venegas) Noriega.
Survivors include his sisters, Josephine Romero of Grand Island, Beatrice Rodriguez of Grand Island and Carmen Garcia of Florida and brothers, Conrad Noriega of Arlington, VA and Larry (Alice Fay) Noriega of Fargo, ND.
Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Joe, Anita, Sofia, Holly, Carin, Lamar, Ruben, Carolyn, Betty Jane, Carmita, Anthony and Marsha. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Felix and sister, Teresa.
Jerry was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High. He was employed at the Yancy Hotel and Bosselman’s Truck Stop.
He is member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Serra Club. Jerry enjoyed music. He loved volunteering with bingo and helping others. Jerry had a kind gentle soul and his memory will be treasured by many.
