Alma M. Sautter, 88, of Central City, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Central City with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 8th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Interment is in the Central City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltfh.com.

Alma was born on March 28, 1924, in Greeley County to William and Nellie (Dishaw) Cornell. She grew up in Broken Bow and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1944. In Broken Bow, Alma worked at the dry cleaners. On June 2, 1945, Alma was united in marriage to Lawrence Eugene Sautter. In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Scotia, Cotesfield, Elba, Primrose and Grand Island; before settling in Central City in 1960. Alma worked as a cook for Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital for eight years and for Bethesda Care Center for two years, she worked at the bowling alley for two years, and for many years she did housekeeping for local families. Lawrence died in 1989 and Alma later went to live at Merrick Manor and Long Term Care both in Central City.

Alma was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Central City. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery work, cooking, canning, and puzzle books. Alma had a special love for deer; but her greatest love was for her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons - Harold and Dee Sautter of Aurora; David Sautter and Don Sautter both of Central City; Rodney and Diana Sautter of Bruning; and Mark and Lori Sautter of Central City; seven grandchildren - Jason Sautter, Lisa Buller, Jana Hatok, Alan Traudt, David Sautter, Justin Sautter and Bradley Sautter; and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding Alma in death were her parents; her husband, Lawrence; granddaughter - Lori Renee Sautter; one great grandson; three sisters - Viola Stark, Mildred John and Lois Cornell; and two brothers - Harold and Kenneth Cornell.
