DePaulis, 59 of Grand Island died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Ravenna Good Samaritan Society.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  Burial of ashes will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.

Mrs. DePaulis was born on February 18, 1954 at Fontana, California the daughter of Don and Bonnie (Ranson) Lally.

Survivors include her husband Ralph; sons, Bill Lally of Washington, Matthew DePaulis of Grand Island and Mark DePaulis of California; daughter and son-in-law, Stormie and Reggie Williams of Grand Island; father, Don Lally of Oregon; brother, Brian and Julie Lally of Oregon; brother-in-law and his wife, Larry and Jacki Bagwell; lifelong friend, Becky Butts and caregiver, Marie Green and seven grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother and friend Gwen.

Deb was raised in Fontana where she graduated from high school.  She was united in marriage to Ralph DePaulis on October 25, 1980.  They moved to Grand Island in February 2005.

Some of her enjoyments included crafts and collecting FROG's (Fully Rely on God).  She enjoyed time spent with family and friends.]]></description>

                                                                                                                        				                                                                                                         <description><![CDATA[Hastings resident, Opal Edna (Reyer) Mosier, 87, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Mary Lanning HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, May 23, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Hastings Public Library. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Opal was born December 3, 1925 in Almena, Kansas. She was the daughter of William & Mabel (Jarvis) Reyer. Opal was a graduate of Davenport High School. She taught in a one-room country school near Davenport. LaVern Mosier and Opal were united in marriage on October 31,1943 in Davenport, Nebraska. In 1954, the family moved to Hastings where Opal resided the rest of her life. In 1989, Opal retired from Lawless Distributing Company of Hastings as an office manager. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and had been a volunteer at Mary Lanning Hospital. Her greatest joy was her family. She was an avid reader and appreciated the services of the Hastings Public Library. She and LaVern enjoyed traveling, often camping.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVern Mosier; son, David Mosier, infant daughter, Janice Mosier; and granddaughters, Cynthia Garber, Whitney Parr, Ashley Parr, and Christina Parr; great-grandson, Kaleb Parr; sister, Beulah Slagowski; brother, Bill Reyer; and step-father, Harlo Staub.

                                                                                                                        				                                                                                                         <description><![CDATA[Dean Alan Siebrass, the son of Donald and Naomi (Goll) Siebrass, was born on November 28, 1958 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on May 19, 2013 at St Frances Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 54 years, 5 months, 21 days.

Dean attended and graduated from Alma High School. He was untied in marriage to Terri Richardson on June 2, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He lived in the communities of Alma, Hastings, York, Gresham and Utica, Nebraska and was currently residing in Webber, Kansas. He was employed with Metalquest in Hebron, Nebraska. He was a current member of the City Council in Webber. Dean loved to fish and hunt, camp and spend time with family and friends and especially loved his time spent with his grandchildren. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends, family and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Naomi.

He is survived by his wife Terri of Webber, Kansas, his children; Nick Siebrass and wife Scottie of Cedar Creek, Nebraska, Cassie Matthews and husband Jeremy of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Erik Siebrass of York, Nebraska, step-son's; Joshua Necas of Aurora, Nebraska and Aaron Necas of Dodge city, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Gavin, Kayd, Symon, Dakota, Cali, Brookelynn, Tyler, Mason, Peyton and Ian. He is also survived by two brothers, Dave Siebrass and wife Jane of Aurora, Nebraska and Dan Siebrass and wife Connie of North Platte, Nebraska; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 3:00 PM from the Southwinds Shelter at Lovewell Lake near Webber, Kansas with David Johnson officiating.

Music will be recordings of 'I Can Only Imagine' and 'Wind Beneath My Wings'.

In lieu of flowers memorials in care of the family.

The family is requesting Lake Attire and everyone is invited to the lunch: please bring choice of salad, dessert, chips or BBQ grilling item to share.

Vera was born October 2, 1920 on a farm north of Kenesaw, NE to William and Ida (Ziebarth) Berg. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School, 1st through 7th grades. She tested out of the 8th grade allowing her to skip to 9th grade at Kenesaw High School where she graduated in 1937. She began teaching in a county school at the age of 16 with a Normal Training Teaching Certificate. She later attained her B.A. in Elementary Education from Hastings College. Her 40 year teaching career included Trumbull School, Tri-View District #33 and Wallace-District #60.

She married Virgil Kennedy on December 24, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Grand Island, NE.

She was a lifelong member of the Kenesaw St. Paul's Lutheran Church, HARTA Retired Teachers Association, NEA and past member of the Adams County Education Association.

She is survived by one son, Randy Kennedy, one daughter, Vicki Weseman and one grandson, Jason Weseman, all of Juniata, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Erna Fischer and Elva Augustin and one brother, Herbert Berg.]]></description>

Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church with Father Loras Grell and Monsignor Ivan Vap officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Deweese, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, from 4 p.m., until the Rosary with the family present from 5:30 p.m., until the Rosary at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE.

Rose was born May 7, 1931 to John and Mary (Karmazin) Petr in Lawrence, NE., the youngest of five siblings. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Hastings, Nebraska in 1947. On February 21, 1952, Rose was united in marriage to Keith D. Hansen at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic church in Deweese.

Well known for her doughnut and bread making skills, Rose loved sharing her great sense of humor with friends and family.

Some of the organizations Rose belonged to were the Deweese VFW Auxiliary, the Deweese Community Club, and the Altar Society of the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese. Rose worked for the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Nelson for 22 years, retiring in 1991. During her retirement years she was an in home caregiver and also worked at the Horseshoe Inn in Deweese. Rose moved to Rose Brook Care Center in 2010.

Left to remember Rose are her children, Patricia (Roger) Ploen of Pierson, IA; Ray (Cyndi Rotter-Hansen) of Norfolk, NE; Jim Hansen, Dan (Brenda) Hansen all of Deweese, NE; Carol Boutin of Tolleson, AZ; Anita (Jeff) Ploen of Kingsley, IA; and Paul "Hooter" (Chris) Hansen also of Deweese, NE .

Grandchildren are Kiel (Shantel) and Kelsey Ploen, Jeremey Hansen, Kristin and Derek Hansen, Evan, Bailey, and Taylor Hansen, Cissy and Jeff Boutin, and Tiffany Gapp, Nathan, Lucas (Abby), Heidi, and Tanner Ploen, Tracy Armbruster, and Corbin and Justin Hansen. Great grandchildren Samantha Rose and Sheridan Gapp, and Drayson and Zaylee Rose Ploen.

Rose is also survived by her brother, Emil Petr of Rio Norte, Natal, Brazil and sister-in-law, Jeanne Petr of Hastings, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith D.; brothers, Edward and George Petr; sister, Helen Hansen; brother-in-law, Gerald Hansen; sisters-in-law, Loretta Petr and Celia Petr.

                                                                                                                        				                                                                                                         <description><![CDATA[Renae Lynn Wheeland, the daughter of Leonard and Patty (Davis) Pizarro, was born on November 8, 1981 in York, Nebraska. She passed away on May 18, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident north of Superior, Nebraska at the age of 31 years, 6 months, 10 days.

Renae attended school at Sandy Creek and Glenvil. She was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ and was baptized there in March of 2008 by the Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry. She was united in marriage to Kevin Wheeland on December 20, 2002 in Nelson.

Renae lived in the communities of Glenvil, Hastings, Kearney and Nelson throughout her life. She owned and operated a licensed day care in Nelson which she loved doing. She loved to be outdoors, visit the lake, going fishing and spending time with her own family as much as she could.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, and her father-in-law, John Wheeland.

She is survived by her husband Kevin of Nelson, Nebraska, her three children; Austin Mundorf, Megan Wheeland and Erik Wheeland all of Nelson, her mother Patty Ellis of Hastings, Nebraska her father Leonard Pizarro, mother-in-law Mary Wheeland and her grandmother, Judy Colburn of Glenvil, Nebraska; three brothers, Keith Pizarro of Omaha, Nebraska, Tim Pizarro and Nick Pizarro both of Hastings, Nebraska; and brother-in-law Jeff Wheeland of Nelson, Nebraska; along with many other relatives and friends.

Velda was born July 31, 1917 in Sutherland, Nebraska to Rance and Lillian (Pierson) Humphrey. She grew up and graduated there. She married John Francis Parr and moved to Superior in 1937. Mr. Parr died in 1941. She then married Manfred C. Wolff in 1942 and moved to Hastings in 1952, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She entered Homestead Assisted Living in 2007 where she resided until her death. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and her family.

Velda was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John F. Parr, husband, Manfred C. Wolff, and a brother, Melvin Humphrey.

Vayle Hayes, 79, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at the United Church of Christ in Clay Center, NE with Rev. Cathyann Colson and Rev. Delmar Klover officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in the Clay Center Cemetery in Clay Center, NE.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Clay Center, NE or to the Super Seniors of Clay Center, NE.

Vayle was born in Deweese, NE to Arthur W. and Kathryn (Sisson) Hayes on February 20, 1934. He attended grade school in Deweese and received his diploma from Edgar High School.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Clay Center, Clay Center Eastern Star, the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Vayle served on the Clay Center School Board for 16 years, was Chairman of the Board of the Nebraska Trucking Association and President of the Nebraska Motor Carriers. He served on the Board of Trustees and was a Deacon of the United Church of Christ.

He served in the 295th Army Reserve for 6 years. In 1955, he married Carol Nye of Clay Center and 3 children joined in that union: Wade, Gordon and Kimberly.

In 1962, Vayle joined the office staff at Dahlsten Truck Line as a dispatcher, then Safety Director and in 1982, was named outstanding Safety Director of the year by the Nebraska Trucking Association. He then was named Vice President and in 1993, President of Dahlsten Truck Line, Inc.

In October of 2004, he retired from Dahlsten Truck Line and they moved to Mesa, AZ. He was elected President of the Home Owners Association of Hacienda De Valencia. They lived in Arizona for 5 years and returned to their home in Clay Center in 2009. In April 2012, they moved to Hastings, NE.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Hastings, NE; son, Gordon of Clay Center, NE; daughter, Kimberly of Mesa, AZ; sister, Jean Klatt of Hastings, NE; brother, Bill and wife Marlys of Doniphan, NE; beloved grandfather of Emily Aflague of Flagstaff, AZ; and Seth and Julie Aflague of Dan Diego, CA; along with nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Wade. ]]></description>

Scott officiating assisted by Father Michael Houlihan of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Closed casket visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2013; 1:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., Monday, May 20, 2013; 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Meals On Wheels or Catholic Social Services.

Blue was born on May 24, 1941 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Gilruth & Anne (Hogue) Darrington. She attended catholic kindergarten and graduated from Yazoo City Public Schools in 1959. Blue worked at Yellowstone National Park during one summer. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1963 earning her degree in education; she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Blue taught school in Jackson, Mississippi. She met Jerry M. Boyd while he was on business with Tenneco Oil Company in Yazoo City. They were married on December 19, 1964; he preceded her in death on February 28, 2011. Blue and Jerry moved to Denver, Colorado where their three children were born, and then moved to Marietta, Georgia. In 1977, they returned to Hastings, Blue was a substitute teacher for many years. She was a member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, Chapter GZ, PEO, Muggers, and Lochland Country Club. Blue delivered Meals On Wheels for many years. She loved to spend time with her family, attend grandchildren's activities, gardening, and was an avid football fan. Blue was an educator, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Blue was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Boyd; and son, Steven Boyd.

Dr. Howard B. Dooley, 96, of Aurora formerly of Palmer and Omaha, died at Hamilton Manor in Aurora on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Howard was born on October 6, 1916, in Palmer to Isaac Turner Dooley and Katherine M (Badgley) Dooley. Howard graduated from Palmer High School, he earned his BA from Nebraska Central College in Central City, his BD from Presbyterian Theological Seminary at Omaha, graduate study at the University of Omaha, and his Juris Doctorate from the Creighton University School of Law in Omaha. Howard was also awarded Honorary Doctorates from Parsons, Doane and Hastings Colleges.

On January 28, 1939, Howard was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Rogers in Central City. Howard began his career in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as Student Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church from 1939 to 1943. Howard entered the United States Navy in 1943 and was assigned to the Marine Air Group 22 operating in the Central Pacific. He served as Chaplain at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California in 1945 and 1946. After completing his active duty in 1946, Howard entered the United States Naval Reserve and served as Commanding Officer of Chaplains Company 9-10 until he retired as a Captain in 1976. From 1946 to 1952, he was the Protestant Chaplain at Father Flanagan's Boys Home in Omaha, from 1952 through 1957 he was Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa; and from 1957 through 1981, he served as President for the Nebraska Independent College Foundation and until 1983, was President of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Nebraska. Howard served as President of the Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation from 1981 to 1994 and was Executive Director of the Nebraska Educational Finance Authority from 1981 through 2001.

Howard was a long-time member and past president of the Omaha Downtown Rotary Club and was a member of the Nebraska Bar Association.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children - Roger Dooley and Hedy Pieramico of San Diego, California; Gary and Janet Dooley of Waterloo; and Mary Johnson of Marquette; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law - Billie R. Vicki Lee Peterson, 66 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at her home in Holdrege following an 8 ½ year battle with cancer. Vicki was born October 7, 1946 at Renton, Washington, the daughter of Donald and Imogene (Bell) Peterson. When Vicki was a young child, the family moved to Holdrege. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Vicki received her primary education from Funk Public School through the eighth grade and then attended Holdrege High School.

Following her education, she was united in marriage to Dennis Jordan in 1966 and to this union one daughter, Angela was born. Vicki began a career in food service as a waitress, which spanned most of her life including employment at the Hotel Dale, Goodrich Dairy, the Taste of Country, and the Hasty Lanes.

On July 10, 1973, Vicki was united in marriage to Wes Peterson and to this union three children were born: Heather Dawn, Wade Weston (who was born at rest), and Brandy May. The family enjoyed special times fishing together, hunting, and Vicki loved to tend to her garden.

Vicki was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege and past member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Wade Weston.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her husband, Wes of Holdrege; three daughters: Angela Simpson and her husband, Kevin of Rhome, Texas, Heather Wallace and her husband, Jon of Holdrege, and Brandy Peterson and her fiancé, Mark Bennett of Holdrege; ten grandchildren: Sarah Wissmueller, Khrystyne, Zachary, Jordan, and Austin Simpson, Amanda and Morgan Jones, Bryce Gosselin, Preston Barnes, and Ethan Peterson Watson; two great-grandchildren: Adelyn and Aria Wissmueller; one brother, Terry Gugle and his wife, Mary of Manhattan, Kansas; two aunts: Winnie Enquist of Elm Creek, Nebraska and Jane Bell of Kearney, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Vicki's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Vicki's honor and will be designated at a later date.

Wing, 77 of Grand Island died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side.

Celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.

To honor Mr. Wing's wishes cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation.

Mr. Wing was born August 8, 1935 at North Platte the son of Chin and Lily (Lee) Wing.

Survivors include his wife Rosa; children and their spouses, Brenda and Rodrigo Marquez of Grand Island, James and Maria Wing of Grand Island, Crystal and Margarito Garcia of Mexico and Rosa Lee and Ramiro Holguin Wing of Grand Island; brothers, Platte Wing of Arizona, George Wing of Wahoo, Jack Wing of Kansas and Kenny Wing of North Platte and sisters, Lucy Lee of California, Mary Rae of Lincoln, Sharon Kay Hurlburt of Omaha and Jeanne Felody of California.

Other survivors include 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patty Okamoto and Lily Stivers and brothers, North Wing and Charles Wing.

Lincoln was raised and received his education in North Platte graduating from North Platte Senior High, class of 1954.  He served in the United States Navy from 1955-1963.  On December 8, 1972 he was united in marriage to Rosa Ramirez in Grand Island.  They lived in North Platte where he worked for Union Pacific.  He then went to work for his parents at the North Platte Café.  Later they moved to Shelton where Lincoln worked for Lacy Sanitation.  They moved to Grand Island in 1997.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

A memorial fund will be established in memory of Lincoln.]]></description>

On February 22, 1942 she married J Robert Rizer in Kearney.  The couple lived in Kearney and Margaret worked as a nurse's aid at the Tuberculosis Hospital and then worked in the respiratory department at Good Samaritan Hospital.   

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and church circles, Lifetime member of the Kearney American Legion Auxiliary, Kearney V.F.W. Auxiliary, and Girl Scouts and was active at the Kearney Senior Hospitality Center. 

Surviving relatives include daughters; Marlene Nelson of Longview, TX, Dona and husband Gene Casper of Hildreth, NE, Pat and husband Kevin Nansel of Grand Island, NE, sister; Maggie Rizer of Omaha, 10 grandchildren,   14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009, 4 brothers and 8 sisters.

Steinke, 64, of Central City died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital in Central City.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Chaplain Mark Hartley will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Military honors at graveside will be presented by Ray Mapes American Legion Post #236 of Wolbach.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mr. Steinke was born January 5, 1949 in Wolbach to Walter and Bernice (Peterson) Steinke.
Dale attended Summit country school in Greeley County before attending Wolbach High School where he graduated in 1967.
He entered the United States Navy on November 7, 1967. He received training at the Great Lakes Naval Base near Chicago.
While still in the Navy, Dale was united in marriage to Sandra Steele on June 1, 1968 in Wolbach. The couple lived in Millington, TN and Jacksonville, FL. When Dale was deployed to Vietnam, Sandra returned to Wolbach where she lived with her parents until Dales return. He received his discharge on March 14, 1972.
The couple first lived in Wolbach, moved to Kansas for a short time before returning to Nebraska where they made their family home in the Central City area.
Dale managed Cargill elevators, worked for Darling Well Service and Engine Repair and then Carlson Systems, retiring in 1997.
Dale loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with his brother, and he especially enjoyed a fishing trip off of the coast of Florida, hunting, horses, coyote hunting and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle & Greg Kramer of Crete, Brenda and John Barker of Ames, IA and Hiliary & Jeramie Wegner of Wolbach; eight grandchildren, Brittny Beyard, Morgan & Josh Korbel, Laken & Gabe Beyard, Abbigail, Natalie and Alden Wegner and Alessandra Hall; two great grandchildren, Elijah McIntyre and Jeremiah Avelar; one brother, Rod and Deb Steinke of Central City and a sister, Joyce and Dick Peetz of Wolbach.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra on February 13, 2005.

Phyllis was born September 7, 1945 to Irvin & Ellis (Lentfer) Pettit on the family homestead northeast of Burr Oak, Kansas. Phyllis attended Oak Creek one-room school house from kindergarten through eighth grade and graduated from Burr Oak High School. Following graduation Phyllis enrolled at the Hastings Beauty Academy where she earned her cosmetology license. On April 1, 1967 Phyllis married Raymond Schutte at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Shane and Lance. Phyllis was a hair stylist for 45 years and her sole purpose besides being a wife and mother was to make her clients' look and feel beautiful. She owned and was a stylist in numerous salons in Hastings, Nebraska. Upon her retirement Phyllis missed her close relationships she had built with her many clients over the years. Following retirement, Phyllis also performed volunteer work in the Hastings community.

Phyllis Marie Schutte was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alan Pettit.

Raymond was born March 12, 1914, seven miles west of Wolbach, the son of Andrew and Christiana Christensen.
Ray was raised and received his education in Hall, Greeley and Howard counties, graduating from St. Paul High School in 1932.
He married Rhoda Sonderup on February 16, 1941 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Howard County. Ray and Rhoda loved to go to dances with their friends, went on cruises and also traveled to many countries.
Ray farmed for many years, worked for the Sugar Beet Factory, Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and Tilley's Sprinklers.
Ray and Rhoda moved to Grand Island in 1970. He did independent sprinkler installation and service. He also clerked many sales and auctions until failing eyesight forced him to retire. They moved to Primrose Retirement Community on October 1, 2012, and enjoyed their apartment and all the residents and staff they met there.

Heater, 92, of Grand Island, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Grand Island Park Place.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Congregational Church.  Reverend Lonnie Logan will officiate.  Burial of ashes will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

To honor Mrs. Heater's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.  All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mrs. Heater was born December 2, 1920, at Nora, Nebraska to Clarence and Karen (Swanson) Sorensen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Heater, on December 2, 1994.

Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Chiarbos of LaVista, NE.

Those also left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren, Karen Chiarbos-Warner and her friend, Mike Ryan of Axtel, Jodie Zelasney of LaVista and Wendi and Troy Jensen of Omaha; three great grandchildren, Rehgan, Avree and Peter and Evelyn's special friend, Bill Stork of Grand Island.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Sorensen and son-in-law, Howard Chiarbos.

Evelyn grew up on the family farm near Nora and graduated from Nora High School in 1938.  She was united in marriage to Roscoe Heater on October 19, 1940. Following their marriage they lived in Beloit, KS and Geneva, NE; moving to Grand Island in 1952.  She was employed as a telephone operator, also employed by Bartz Floral, the Ordinance Plant and K-Mart.  She was a dietician for the Lutheran Hospital and Lebensraum Retirement Center in Grand Island and Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.  Evelyn also volunteered at Grand Generation Center.

She was a member of the United Congregational Church and the Red Hat Society.  Evelyn's enjoyments included line dancing, playing pool, baking and playing cards.

Linda was born July 25, 1954 in Franklin, Nebraska to Gerald & Caroline (Koci) Dyer. On September 20, 1974 she married Ron Gardner. While in Franklin, Linda worked at the Franklin Public Library. She was a library assistant at the Hastings Public Library from September 1990 to May 2012.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Gardner; and her father, Gerald Dyer.

Ostdiek, the daughter of Theodore and Minnie Schendt, was born on September 30, 1931 on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on May 12, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 7 months, 12 days.

She was the middle child of seven children: William, Marie, Raymond, Geri, Joseph, Catherine and Bernard. Geraldine (Geri as she was known to all) grew up on the family farm south of Lawrence. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Nelson High School with the Class of 1949.

On May 6, 1952 she was united in marriage to Bernard J. Ostdiek at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Lawrence, Nebraska and to this union 6 children were born. Sons: Gary, Thomas and Loren and daughters: Carolyn, Dianne and Janet.

She spent her years raising their six children and was also employed as a bookkeeper at the Bailey & Lynch elevator in Mt. Clare, Nebraska, the REA office in Nelson, she had a cake decorating business from her home and later she was the Secretary-Bookkeeper for the Lawrence Public School in Lawrence, and she also worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. In 1983 they moved to Superior where she became the manager of the Plains Motel for 5 years before her retirement.

Geri had a passion for cooking, sewing, reading, cross word and jig saw puzzles and she loved to travel. But most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren which were very important to her and she was very proud of them all. She did volunteer work at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior and also worked the Blood Mobile whenever it was in Superior.

She was a member of the St. Stephen's Catholic Church, rural Lawrence and their Altar Society and the Home and School Association, later becoming a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Society, she held many offices in each organization. For years she would lead the rosary before Masses at St. Joseph's. Her Catholic faith was a very important part of her life. Geri and Bernard celebrated 51 years of marriage before Bernard's passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bernard on November 13, 2003; sister, Catherine Yakus, brothers, Raymond and Joseph Schendt and sisters-in-law, Lola Schendt, Agnes Ostdiek and Viola Pavelka, three grandsons Jason and David Menke, and Michael Willey and one granddaughter Renee Ostdiek.

She is survived by her children; survivors include her son, Gary (Bernita) of Nelson, Nebraska; daughter, Carolyn Menke (Ray) of Hastings, Nebraska; son Thomas (Deb) of Superior, Nebraska; son, Loren (Karen) of Lawrence, Nebraska; daughters, Dianne Willey (Pat) of Hastings, Nebraska and Janet Brooke (John) of Hastings, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, William 'Bill' Schendt, Hastings, Nebraska, sister, Marie (Everett) James of Olathe, Kansas and brother, Bernard 'Butch' (Elaine) Schendt of Grandview, Missouri; brother-in-law, Vince Ostdiek (Evelyn) of Hastings, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Rita Mazour (Jerome)and Eleanor Schendt all of Lawrence, Nebraska; brothers-in-law Alvin Pavelka of Cartersville,Georgia;and Leonard Yakus of Omaha, Nebraska;and sister-in-law Shirley Dove (Clarence) of Webber, Kansas; along with a host of many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Superior, Nebraska

Glasgow, 64, of Clarks, NE, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha.  Memorial services will be Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Chaplain Lonnie Logan officiating.  Burial will be in the Clarks Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Lone Tree Post #6.  Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, from 5-7 at the funeral home. 

Jim was born on March 23, 1949, in Scottsbluff, NE, to Louis H. (Gus) and Jane (Bowman) Glasgow.  The family moved to Clarks early in Jim's childhood, and he attended school in Clarks from 5th grade to graduation, in 1967.  He enjoyed success playing football and was awarded all state honors as a senior on their state championship team. 

Jim passed on playing football in college to enter the United States Navy on October 12, 1967.  He served two tours in Vietnam as a Seabee, and was honorably discharged on March 10, 1971.  After serving his country, Jim returned to Clarks and began his career in the grain and fertilizer business at Clarks Grain, working for Ira Reisner.  He later worked for Midland Ag Service for Roger and Barb Luebbe and later for Koch Ag.  He completed his career at Trotter Fertilizer in Elba, NE for Jim and Virginia (Sis) Trotter, retiring in 2011. 

Jim convinced Judy Wieseman to marry him on August 15, 1987 and they made their home in Clarks, except for a short stint in Plainview.  In Clarks, he was a member of the volunteer fire department and he and Judy were both members of the Clarks EMT team.  He was also the Veterans Service Officer for the Clarks area.  He also was the town Santa Claus numerous times handing out treats to the kids, and also visited family homes on Christmas Eve. 

He was a lifetime member of the Clarks VFW #4832, and served as Commander, District Commander and at the time of his death, was Quarter Master.  He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Lone Tree Post #6 of Central City, serving on term as Vice Commander.  He was a past District 15 Commander, and Seabee Veteran of America. 

Jim and Judy enjoyed traveling and went to Mexico numerous times; Las Vegas with Charlie and Chris Starostka, and other friends; and traveled by bus to Washington to visit various sites. He was especially interested in visiting the Vietnam Veteran, and the Seabee memorials.  He also attended the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Reunion every year since 1988.  Jim was a Co Chairman of Nebraska Agri Business Association and was a member of the Elks Club in Grand Island.  He enjoyed coffee every morning with Kevin Guilford and Rod Pollard, and also helped cook the beans at Clarks Bean Days with Waldo Peterson.  He was active in the community.  He was a town board member and served two terms as Mayor of Clarks, and was also a retired member of Clarks Fire and Rescue. 

Survivors left to cherish the memories of this gruff old teddy bear are his wife, Judy Glasgow of Clarks, NE, his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Craig Wilhelm of Rising City, NE, a grandson, Austin Moore of Grand Island, NE, two granddaughters, Cierra Wilhelm of Lincoln, NE; and Meredith Wilhelm of Rising City, NE, a great grandson, Eli Langer of Lincoln, NE, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Burr Glasgow of Peoria, IL; Dale and Cyndi Wieseman of Grand Island, NE, a sister, Nancy Glasgow of Hildreth, NE, and several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Jane Glasgow, his brother, Doug Glasgow, and his In-Laws, Glenn and Doris Wieseman. ]]></description>

                                                                                                                        				                                                                                                         <description><![CDATA[Everett 'Doc' Eads, 91 of Grand Island died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Grand Island Nebraska Veterans Home. 

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Minden Cemetery.  Dan Naranjo will officiate.  There will be no visitation.

All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Doc was born November 7, 1921, in a farmhouse four miles east of Franklin.  The youngest in his family, he first attended a rural school before he moved into Franklin where he graduated from Franklin High School in 1939.

After graduation, he moved to Detroit where he was apprenticed to Gregory Kort for 75 cents a week.  Doc had inherited his brother Ralph's (Tort) jewelry tools when he died from a hemorrhage due to a tonsillectomy after opening a small jewelry-repair business in Franklin.  In Detroit, Doc lived with his sister Martha and her family.  Later, he moved to Minden where he worked in the Johnson Jewelry store.

On December 20, 1942, he married Cleo Ream in Beloit, Kansas.  They had two children, James Charles (Jim) and William Richard (Rick). 

Jim married Chris Bailey in 1971, and they had two children, Jacey and Darcey. Three years ago Jacey and her husband Mathew Hopper added a great grandson, Maxwell James, to the family. Rick married Cindy Verbeck in 1974, and they had two children, Lindsey and Shannon.

After marriage, Doc and Cleo moved to Detroit until he was inducted into the army in 1945 during World War II.  Later, he was transferred to the 13th Air Force at Clark's Field in Northern Luzon, Philippines.

After being discharged from the army, Doc worked at Keith's Jewelry in Kearney.  In 1948, he and Cleo moved to Imperial where they operated a jewelry business until 1957.  Then they moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, for a year before moving to Holdrege, Nebraska, where they opened their jewelry business.  In 1980, they retired to Grand Island.  During retirement, they enjoyed traveling to various states.  Cleo preceded Doc in death on February 21, 2010.  Doc's hobbies included boating, fishing, and coin collecting.]]></description>

'Jerry' Jacupke, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Service will be Monday, May 13, 2013; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Private family burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Sunday, May 12, 2013; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to NET/TV or Start Over Rover.

Mr. Jacupke was born November 3, 1925, to Paul and Dorothy Jacupke in Leshara, Nebraska. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1942. He attended Midland College (Fremont, NE) in 1942. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 1943. He enlisted in the Navy and served from 1944 until June of 1946. After leaving the military he attended UNL where he majored in physical education and graduated in 1948. He lettered for the Husker football team in 1943, 1946, and 1947. Upon graduation he taught and coached at Osceola High School, Norfolk Junior College, and Fairbury High School. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co., Lincoln Equipment Co., and was in management at Werner Construction for thirty-five years. He retired in 2001 at the age of 75. He was appointed to the Board of Governors at Central Nebraska Technical College by Gov. J. James Exon. He was on the Board of Directors for the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce and the UNL Alumni Board of Directors. He received an Admiralship in the Nebraska Navy. He was on the steering committee for the C.T.C.C. Civil Technology program. In 1965, he obtained a pilot's license. He had a lifetime membership to Lochland Country Club; was a member of the Elks Country Club and the VFW.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon; son, Jay; granddaughter, Emily Barta; and brother-in-law, David Anderson.

Gail was born July 14, 1925 in Indianola, NE to Francis and Lily (Wood) Madden.  
 
Gail, as she was know by all attended Grade School and High School at Havana, north of Indianola.  On June 1, 1945 she married Emert Farr in Norton, KS.  The couple farmed 13 miles north of Cambridge, NE.  In 1958 they moved to Boulder, CO where they operated the Boulder Cottage Court until 1962.  They moved to Stockton, KS where they lived for 2 years until moving to Kearney in 1964.  They purchased the El Rancho Trailer court then owned and operated the Ideal Motel until retiring in 1976.   Retirement didn't suit Gail and she went to work in the kitchen at Kearney High School and was there for 30 years and retired in 2006. 
 
Gail's compassion for life was exemplified in her never-ending energy to create a better day for a friend or relative.  She never missed a birthday card with a warm wish and a couple of dollars to every child and grandchild and great grandchild.  A visiting friend or relative never left her house without a jar of homemade jelly for their journey home.  Her summer days were spent in her back yard with planting and maintaining flowers, canning juices from choke cherries or wild plums for making jelly in the fall and winter months. 
 
She was a past member of the Kearney Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.
 
Surviving relatives include her son, Tom and wife Nita of Wamego, KS; daughters, Myrna Farr of Grand Island, NE and Brenda Sheldon of Kearney; grandchildren, Ty, Kelly, Jared, Mathew, Nicole and Tara, 10 great grandchildren, brother, William Madden and wife Ann of Alpine, CA, sister, Denelda 'Dennie' Schermerhorn and husband Bernie of San Diego, CA, sisters-in-law, Lillian Sayer of Cambridge, NE and Mildred Farr of Kearney, NE.
 
Gail Farr was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, sisters, Arline Sorensen and Alice Walker and brother; James Madden.

Connie C. Wrage, 78, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Reverend Bill Pavuk will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.

Connie was born March 19, 1935 in Hastings, Nebraska, the oldest of three children to Homer and Mabel (Ochsner) Clay. She grew up and received her education in Hastings and Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1953. During high school she worked for her dad at Clay Auto Supply as a bookkeeper. She later went to work for Nielsen & Petersen Moving and Storage.

She was united in marriage to Walter (Bud) Petersen in 1956 at Grand Island. Bud preceded her in death in 1958. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Wrage on March 5, 1960 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she worked for Grand Island Elevators, JM McDonald's Department Store and Younkers. The couple celebrated their 52 year Wedding Anniversary in March of 2012. Wilbur preceded Connie in death on November 12, 2012.

Connie was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and also the Galaxy Extension Club for over 45 years. She loved to sew, read and politics. Wilbur and Connie enjoyed traveling together, attending Husker Football games and dancing at various dance halls, including the Platt-Duetscshe. For years she was active in the 4-H and Girl Scouts with her daughters. Most of all Connie loved to be a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors of the immediate family include four daughters, Barbara Leonard of Phoenix, AZ, Gretchen Petersen of Peoria, AZ, Florinda Petersen of Grand Island and Teresa Pichler of Grand Island; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Jim Hehnke of Grand Island; 10 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother-in-law Alvin (Shirley) Wrage and several nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a brother, Gordon Clay.
