Johanns issues statement on dinner with President
In a statement released Thursday, Senator Johanns calls the dinner with President Obama Wednesday night a positive step forward and says he appreciates the President's outreach.
In his own words Johanns says: "I am willing - as I have always been - to participate in any effort to deal with our nation's debt, deficit and spending problem. But any meaningful solution must tackle the hard issues like strengthening social security and Medicare. Simply continuing on our current path, careening from crisis to crisis, in untenable." The senator then adds, "As an avid golfer, the President knows that one of the most important parts of the swing is the follow-through. The same holds true here as well." |
