Nebraska switches to online unemployment filing

by Josh Egbert

Nebraskans filing unemployment claims will now do so online. The new online system will replace the automated phone system.

The state Department of Labor say the change is a step forward for the department.

They say Nebraskans will now be able to complete most of the steps to receive benefits in one place.

The online unemployment filing is available at www.dol.Nebraska.gov.

People who don't have a computer are encouraged to use computers at their local library or at 1 of 15 Labor Department offices to file their weekly unemployment claims.
