Nebraska unemployment rate holds steady

The Nebraska Department of Labor reports the state's unemployment rate holding steady at 3.7 percent.

The numbers out Friday show the seasonally adjusted rate for December 2012 as 3.7 percent in Nebraska. The jobless rate is the same as the November rate.

The December 2011 unemployment rate was 4.2%.

Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang credits Nebraska's stable and diverse economy for what she calls a consistently low, unemployment rate.

The seasonally-adjusted national unemployment rate in December was 7.8 percent, unchanged from November.

The December 2011 national unemployment rate was 8.5 percent.
