A state senator is accused of using $63,000 in campaign funds to gamble. Nebraska Watchdog is reporting Omaha's Brenda Council was charged today with two misdemeanor counts of abusing public records.

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning's Offices investigated subpoenaing bank and casino records.

His office says those showed she withdrew about $63,000 in campaign funds at various casinos between January 2010 and July 2012.

Bruning said she deposited - or repaid - about $36,000 over the 2 1/2 years investigators reviewed.

Council is running for a second term in the Legislature and, according to Watchdog, she hasn't said if she'll drop out of the race.
