State fair officials say a 34–year–old woman is recovering after being hit in the head on a ride at the Nebraska State Fair.

The accident happened just before 5pm Monday night on the rock and roll rollercoaster.

According to fair officials, the woman was on the ride when a piece of decorative paneling fell hitting her in the head.

She was taken to Saint Francis hospital with lacerations to the back of her head.

State Fair Executive Director Joseph McDermott says they are working with the victim and someone will be held liable for the accident.

"However, it was an accident, all insurance information has been exchanged and I'm sure she'll be taken care of," said Joseph McDermott, State Fair Executive Director.

This was the second accident at the fair this year.

A 75–year–old Kansas man was killed while trying to load his tractor onto a semi. He had just taken part in the antique tractor parade the day before.
