Governor pledges funds to improve state parks

Other news from the capital now as Governor Heineman is pledging to invest nearly $2 million in two of the state's parks - Mahoney State Park and Lake McConaughy.

Lake Mac, which helps support 950 jobs in the area, would receive improvements to both the Lone Eagle and Cedar Vue campgrounds.

Close to one million people visited Lake McConaughy in 2010 creating more than $44 million in retail sales and an overall economic impact of more than $73 million.

Mahoney State Park will expand deluxe cabins making them suitable to house 12 people.

Mahoney had more than one million people visit it in 2010.
