Senator introduces oil pipeline bill

The Keystone X-L pipeline is one step closer to becoming a reality, but that doesn't mean TransCanada will be able to make deals with landowners any time soon.

According to the Omaha Word Herald, State Senator Bill Avery is pushing a bill that would prevent oil pipeline companies from striking any agreements with landowners before they receive government approval to do so.

TransCanada didn't have a stance on the bill.

We're at the beginning of a 45 day open comment period before President Obama is slated to make his final decision.
