New Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen is taking over for the departed Brett Bielema as the Badgers prepare to depart for Pasadena and the Rose Bowl January 1st against the Stanford Cardinal.

Anderson comes from Utah State where his club finished an 11-2 season with a victory over the Toledo Rockets in the famous Idaho Potato Bowl Saturday.

Bucky the Badger has a new friend, no doubt about it.

The new coach made it clear he will stay behind the scenes as Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez will coach the Badgers in the Rose Bowl. The Badgers earned their way to Pasadena after defeating Nebraska in the Big 10 Title Game.

Earlier this season Utah State actually took on these Badgers losing a narrow 16-14 decision in Madison, just one of those 2 Utah State losses.

Now Coach Andersen will be on the other sideline beginning next season with the Badgers.
