A perfect season in the GPAC for the Hastings Volleyball squad didn't quite translate to the conference tournament as the Broncos fell in the title game to Doane.

But no matter, Hastings, still getting an at-large bid to the NAIA Championship Tournament and a first round bye.

So for now the Broncos just trying to stay sharp during a long layoff as they see how things shake out in the opening round.

"Appreciate the urgency of the moment, that first match really sets the tone for your tournament so if we can go out there and take a match right away, put a little fear into the other teams by our level of play, I think that can really set the tone for the rest of the tournament," said Coach Matt Buttermore.

"We know if we just take care of the ball on our side of the court we'll be fine," said Kendra Schwein. "So if any team we play our game against, getting our first pass, first contact, then put the set up and winning at the net, putting the ball down in the court, keep us free from errors we can beat any team."
